This song was written as a challenge to Fighting the Stigma of mental illness to raise awareness of the reality of Mental Health/illness in the world, and that it does not discriminate. The goal is to bring mental illness out of the shadows so that it can be a discussion instead of just being a negative portrayal in today's' news media. There are many of us affected by mental health issues and we are in constant recovery to deal with the challenges life brings us, but it is not an unwinnable battle! A portion of the proceeds of this song sold through bandcamp will be donated to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
lyrics
They call me case A to Z---
Because I have every known head disease.
I’m bipolar, schitzo, with agoraphob!
What happens if I have borderline too?
Why you gon’ push me out your group?
Are you just scared, or you ignorant too?
We hope to be, Part of Society.
Fighting the Stigma, makes us stronger!
we are still here,
Yeah we are still here.
They call me case A to Z .
Because I have every known head disease.
I’m a turreted, twitching cuz diskonesia.
There aren’t any cures, but I’m not alone here.
I fight every day just to be sane.
It never works what the heck’s wrong with my brain?
We hope to be, Part of Society.
Fighting the Stigma, keeps us sick Lord!
we are still here, Yeah we are still here
we are still here, we are still…
They call me case A to Z.
Because I have every known head disease.
Don’t call me uncleanly, I’m fully OCD,
I check the lock 4 times so that I can breathe.
I see things/hear things that aren’t really there.
Just the fact that I get through them, it Shows, No Fear.
We hope to be, Part of Society.
Fighting the Stigma, makes us stronger!
we are still here.
Yeah, we are still here.
We are making progress…
Don’t mess with our madness…
We are making progress…
Don’t mess with my madness…
We hope to be, Part of Society.
Fighting the Stigma, makes us stronger!
